Cyber Surakshit Bharat: NSS Cadets as Cyber Warriors
(Empowering Girls at Ch. Ishwar Singh Kanya Mahavidyalya, Dhand-Dhandwana)
On February 15, 2025, I had the privilege of conducting a Cyber Surakshit Bharat awareness session at Ch. Ishwar Singh Kanya Mahavidyalya, Dhand-Dhandwana. Cybersecurity awareness is crucial for digital safety, especially for young students who actively engage in online activities. This session was specially organized for the NSS volunteers of the college, aiming to equip them with essential knowledge to navigate the digital world securely.
The Initiative and Organizers
This insightful session was made possible through the efforts of Principal Dr. Sangeeta Sharma, who extended the invitation with the reference of Mr. Balwinder Singh Noor, Press Reporter, and Noor Photo Studio, Dhand. Their dedication to student welfare and cybersecurity awareness played a pivotal role in making this session successful. NSS Program Officer Dr. Meena Rani and Dr. Kamlesh further ensured an interactive and engaging discussion, allowing students to actively participate in the learning process.
I conducted the session voluntarily on behalf of Miss Saminder Kaur, Director of Rozy Computech Services, as she was engaged in another project. An alumna of this college, Miss Saminder Kaur and the entire Rozy Computech Services team have been actively contributing to the Cyber Surakshit Bharat Abhiyan by organizing cybersecurity awareness sessions in institutions that shaped our journeys.
A Personal Mission: Giving Back to Our Roots
Conducting a cybersecurity awareness session at Ch. Ishwar Singh Kanya MahaVidyalya, Dhand-Dhandwana, was more than just an educational endeavor—it was a heartfelt commitment to giving back to our roots. The Rozy Computech Services team actively contributes to the Cyber Surakshit Bharat Abhiyan by voluntarily organizing cybersecurity awareness sessions in institutions where we studied, reinforcing our mission to empower students through knowledge.
Taking this session on behalf of Miss Saminder Kaur, an esteemed alumna of the college, reaffirmed our dedication to ensuring young women, especially NSS volunteers, are equipped with the skills to navigate the digital world safely. Witnessing their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn further strengthened our resolve to continue spreading cybersecurity awareness through volunteer lectures, social media initiatives, and community-driven efforts.

Key Highlights of the Session
The session focused on real-world cyber threats that young women often encounter, including:
1. Social Media Safety
2. Phishing Awareness
3. Online Harassment & Cyberstalking
4. Secure Digital Transactions
The interactive nature of the session encouraged participants to share their experiences and raise concerns about cyber threats they face in their daily lives. Their active engagement and enthusiasm in learning about cybersecurity were commendable.
Impact and Appreciation
The college welcomed me warmly, and the NSS candidates began the session with their inspiring song, "स्वयं सजें वसुन्धरा संवार दें," which beautifully aligned with our mission. Just as they strive for a better future through service, we aim to secure the digital world by spreading cybersecurity awareness through volunteer lectures, blogs, social media campaigns, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels.
The response from the students was overwhelmingly positive. They appreciated the practical insights and real-life examples shared during the session, which helped them relate to the cybersecurity challenges they face. Many students asked pertinent questions regarding securing their personal devices, handling cyberbullying, and recognizing cyber fraud, making the session highly interactive and engaging.
Gratitude and Acknowledgments
I extend my sincere gratitude to Principal Dr. Sangeeta Sharma, NSS Program Officer Dr. Meena Rani and Dr. Kamlesh for their support and initiative in organizing this session. Special thanks to Mr. Baljinder Singh Noor for facilitating this session and to the local press reporters and editors of Ajit Samachar, Punjab Kesari, Jag Marg, and Haryana Vatika for covering this event and amplifying the message of cybersecurity awareness. Their support plays a crucial role in reaching a wider audience and fostering a cyber-secure society.
The enthusiastic participation and engagement of students reaffirmed the importance of such sessions. I look forward to conducting more awareness programs and strengthening our commitment to a Cyber-Secure Bharat! 🚀🔒
