Haryana International Horticultural Marketing Corporation Ltd was incorporated as a Special Purpose Vehicle during 2018 under Companies Act 2013 to develop the India International Horticulture Market at Ganaur, District-Sonepat, Haryana on an area of 544 acres. The proposed Horticulture Market at Ganaur shall comprise of world class Marketing Infrastructure for Fruit and Vegetables. The primary objective to setup this Market is to improve market access for the farmers of Haryana State producing Fruits, Vegetables, Flowers, Fish, Poultry and Dairy Products, etc. by connecting them to National and International avenues. 

This Market will act as ‘Market of National Importance’ and Transit Market which will provide latest post harvest facilities and market services to the farmers of Haryana and other neighbouring States like, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh.. It envisage to become one of the most modern and largest market in the country helping in de-congesting the Azadpur Market, Delhi. 

The market will be developed with total investment of ~ INR 2,400 Crore with major investment in setting up of core infrastructure like Retail area, Farmer’s Rest House, Police Station, Polyclinic, Institutional Area, Taxi Stand, Fire Station, and Charging Stations for Car & Containers. 

Another major chunk of public investment will go into setting up 17 trading sheds (including a shed for farmers and another for FPOs/Women Entrepreneurs).  The market will also have provision for setting up Cold Atmospheric Chambers, Pack-houses, Grading lines, Primary, and Secondary Processing Centres. The market is expected to attract an investment of Rs. 4500 Cr. from the private sector. 

The market will be developed as a “Green Hub” using entire roof tops for solar, rain water harvesting & recycling, clean energy, plug-in facility, Vehicle Charging Point, STP, ETP, Waste Management and recycling etc. The whole structure of the market has been planned and designed to accommodate different players based on their paying capacity and integration of facilities to make the project viable. The tenders for EPC contract have been invited and last date for submission of tender has been fixed at 10th May, 2022. The development work of the Market is likely to be completed within 2 years i.e. upto June, 2024.
